Possible poster....

Working on some graphic designs and came up with something..... I ususally am wanting to illustrate everything in a picture, but having a limitation can be liberating in a way.... am thinking of painting this?

This is the ink and wash under painting done in reverse of the cover. It is 90% lined with a brush and 100% drawing ink....

Cover for VitaMN weekly mag.... I have been busy lately, not alot of posts going up.... I will post the watercolor of this to give a little idea of the foundation of illustration. I was honestly amazed at how good the printing was.... I didnt think they would be able to pull it off. Extremely stressful, but worth every second..... I might do prints.... did I mention that I have prints for sale of most of my illustrations...?

More Zombies!

It has been a while since I posted, so I gotta get something out there! Some oils in the works, some watercolors, but mostly alot of COD WAW..... nerd. This is a poster for a show in August for one of our favorite bands, it was done by my friend Brandon and I. We sketched back and forth, then started inking on opposite sides, working on each others inking as we went along.... it was a very envigorating experience for sure! Finished the inking in a couple hours! I colored it in photoshop and we will be having Steve from Squad 19 printing it.... sooooo sweet. Not sure how many will be printed but under 50 for sure..... :)

New oil

Rocked this out this week.... started it on sunday or monday night around 2am and finished at 3am thursday night. Super stoked, did this one from life, just hung up a piece of glass and started to go to town!

Gotta fix a couple things about this guy (mainly tone down the chin), but it is mostly done... not super stoked, background too loose and bright, but sick of working on it, so....

Finished Oils and one in progress.

Finished 2, a couple more to go.... got some work in on the zombie Damian painting, it is unfinished, but the other 2 are. :) So tired.

New Oils.

I am starting a new painting, but realize I need to finish some of the stragglers. I am really stoked on this painting, no model used for the figure, probably should have, but such is life. In oil paint, I started this on tuesday morning, this week. It is pretty big, about 1.5' by 2.5' it seems much bigger.... Feel like I am slowly working towards a system that will work for me. I didnt realize how much paint you need to cover a space like this! And cleaning large brushes.... no bueno.

Oil Paint!

I love oil paint, it takes a while for my body and brain to become acclimated to the turpentine, but I am in full on paint mode. I guess I will see how long I can ride this wave till I find something else to obsess over. They are all in varying degrees of completion, some closer than others, so please do not judge too harshly..... the model in two of these is my son, FYI.

Pregnant!

This is from a drawing I did like 4 months ago, before the Mcad class, just wanted to have something new to show... havent worked on it in forever, the halo is kind of weak and the ribs are not how I wanted them but, what can ya do.... it isnt oil paint so I guess I have to slog on through. I think I will go with simple color scheme, just the flowers and maybe the sky and leave it at that, maybe just the flowers so it can be done..... I didnt think that anyone looked at this page, but in the last week I have had three people mention it, which made me happy.

Apocalypse goat

Not happy at all with this guy, but gotta finish it anyways, since I have spent like a million hours on this fucker. UGH! I am definitely feeling the oil paint way more at this time.... will post some picks of the 3 oil paintings I am working on this weekend hopefully. Seriously, ugh. Realizing that the hair and forehead look weird, but dont want to waste all this time I have put into it.... :(
